With over 25 years’ experience in marketing, PR and media relations, Owner and Managing Director Louise Alexander launched Athena PR in 2001. Renowned for her exceptional networking skills with an unparalleled address book of valuable contacts.
Prior to setting up Athena PR, Louise spent 10 years with Inter-Continental Hotels and Resorts. Louise was responsible for the global PR and communications activities, and worked on the company’s public affairs, government and community relations to get IHC ready for an IPO.
After IHG was purchased by Bass PLC, she expanded her role as Manager of Media Relations for Bass Hotels and Resorts, incorporating over 4,000 hotels and resorts in over 100 countries. Working with PR agencies and hotel PR managers around the globe.
Louise helped launch Exclusively Magazine, a glossy publication distributed to properties worth £1.5 million and above in and around Surrey and London. Responsible for bringing in funds via paid-for advertising, advertorials and writing editorial content, allowing her to use her creative writing skills to interview celebrities who lived in and around Surrey or were seeking to raise their profile in the area. The magazine is still running under the name: Essence Magazine with Louise as Contributing Editor.
